Education in Knaresborough
Knaresborough schools have a long history of academic excellence and service to the local community. Our secondary school, King James’s School, is proud of its history and tradition, being founded in 1616 with a Royal Charter from King James I.
All our schools believe in strong partnerships between school and home and work closely with families and the local community. Admission applications are made via North Yorkshire County Council’s on-line application system at northyorks.gov.uk
Do you fancy expanding your horizons and learning new skills along the way? Adult education can offer you the opportunity to do just that, and perhaps make new friends at the same time.
Early Years Education
Every child aged 3 and 4 years old is entitled to receive free early education each week, until they reach compulsory school age (the term following their 5th birthday). For further information regarding early education please visit www.northyorks.gov.uk/early-education-and-childcare
